FOR MYBB FORUM OWNERS
List your MyBB forum in a directory built around real community activity. Set up and manage your listing from MyBB Admin CP.
GET STARTED
You’ll need MyBB 1.8.38 or later, PHP 8.1–8.4 with Sodium and cURL, a supported MySQL or MariaDB database, and access to an owner email inbox.
Get the latest release from the MyBBForums plugin repository. Unpack the release before copying its files.
Copy mybbforums.php into inc/plugins/, the library into inc/plugins/mybbforums/, and the scheduled task into inc/tasks/. Copy the Admin CP module into admin/modules/config/.
Copy mybbforums-verify.php to your MyBB forum’s public base path. The service uses it to verify that this MyBB installation controls the forum URL.
In Admin CP, install and activate MyBBForums Toplist under Configuration → Plugins. Then open Configuration → MyBBForums and set the service URL to https://mybbforums.com/api/v1.
YOUR LISTING
Enter your forum name, description, owner email, categories, and tags in the plugin settings. Choose up to three categories and ten tags. A logo and banner are optional.
You can save and edit your listing while email confirmation is pending. The listing stays private until the owner email is confirmed, the service verifies the installation, and you choose Publish listing.

Open the confirmation link sent to your owner email. The link expires and can only be used once. The plugin also proves control of your MyBB installation using its private signing key and the verification file.
A forum URL by itself cannot claim an existing listing. A new claim cannot see or change the current owner’s settings before its own email is confirmed. Keep the plugin’s private data directory during upgrades and server moves so your installation identity and queued stats stay available.
MANAGE FROM ADMIN CP
Update your public name, description, service categories, and tags. Changes sync to a private preview until you publish them.
The hourly MyBB task reports aggregate active users and new public posts for the last 7 and 30 days. A local retry queue keeps failed reports for the next sync.
See listing state, last sync, accepted stats time, score, metric availability, queue age, and actionable errors. Choose Sync and refresh status for an immediate check.
Only aggregate counts are sent; member names and individual activity are not. You can exclude test or service account IDs. Suspicious jumps are held for moderator review before they affect score.
